Over the Rainbow Quilted Pillow Pattern

You thought I was done?
Bonus Project
I know that the blog hop was supposed to end yesterday, but I have been working on a special project that I want to share with you.
Throughout the blog hop I have met so many wonderful makers, shop owners, sewing related companies, and it has been a great experience for me. I hope it was for you as well.

Over the Rainbow Pillow pattern
You may have seen my pattern testers on Instagram working on this project.
I did not want to send out a pattern into the world without making sure it was easy to understand and void of errors.
That is where the lovely pattern testers came in. I asked in a post if anyone wanted to test this for me, and I was flooded with so many offers, I am truly grateful to all of them.
You can see a few of them below, there are more. I will post those over the next few weeks as well.
Aren’t they lovely?
THOROUGHLY tested pattern
So if you decide to go ahead and make this, rest assured, 14 people before you have already made it. I have listened to all of their comments, and applied their suggestions, most of them.
Like, “please number the pages” 🤯. Seem simple, but I forgot🤷♀️.
Ever since designing Blossom and Grow fabric collection, I envisioned a rainbow project of some sort.
I was told curves are hard, but that voice inside my head kept saying, make a rainbow project so here we are.
Can you relate? If someone tells you something is hard, it makes you want to do it even more?
Well that’s how I roll, challenge accepted.

You will be taken to my shop, where you can purchase and download immediately.
This is my first item in my shop, more to come soon. Thanks for your support 🤗
Are you afraid to sew curves?
Have you tried and been frustrated?
It is easier than you think.
How to Sew Curves
To learn how to piece curved fabric pieces, I watched a few tutorials, you can see them here:
(Watch them through and it will all make sense).
How to Attach a Zipper
I watched these 3 tutorials to learn how to attach the zipper:
Any fabric combination works
You can use whatever fabric you like, as you can see my testers used a variety of different fabrics, and they all worked.
I love the sophisticated modern vibe of this one made by Jeanette Chappell from @sleepy.southpaw
And her choice to use vertical quilting is just genius 😍
If you want to see the fabrics I used, they were my first licensed fabric collection with StudioE Fabrics, called Blossom and Grow. You can check your favorite quilt shop, or a quick Google search to see if anyone still carries it.
Another lovely version made by one of my pattern testers
This one also has a lovely fresh modern vibe, and I love the hand stitching. Made by Nora from @quilts.from.nora

Thanks so much for following along on my first sewing blog hop. It was a learning experience for sure.
WHAT I LEARNED:
I learned that you really, really, like free fabric.
I learned that this sewing community is kind and generous.
I learned that we can all learn new things, even if they scare us.
I learned how to use Google Sheets (that’s how I kept all the giveaways and projects organized).
What did you learn? I would love to know in the comments.
CAN YOU DO ME A SOLID?
Please pin the image above👆🏻 to Pinterest so others will find the blog hop. It will remain as an evergreen source of project inspiration.
We need more crafty people in the world, don’t you agree?
Are you on my email list?
Don’t worry, I won’t spam you. You will be the first to know when I have a new project or line of fabric to share.
KEEP IN TOUCH
You’re gonna miss me😜
This isn’t the last of me. I won’t be posting a project every day, but I will try to continue posting easy, simple diy sewing projects.
And I have another fabric line shipping in August, Find Your Path. Maybe I should plan another blog hop for that?
What do you think. Should I do another blog hop?
There will be no new project tomorrow🥲
But you can go back and review all 20 projects and pick one to make.
Which one will you choose? Which was your favorite?
I am eyeing the dinner napkins.
Let me know in the comments.
Thanks for reading til the end! And thanks so much for following along. It has been a pleasure connecting with you.👋🏻
Happy making,
Maureen
